Cloudflare has crashed! Millions of sites and services worldwide are inaccessible.

The massive Cloudflare outage, which began this afternoon at 2:48 PM, has paralyzed a large portion of the internet. Twitter (X), ChatGPT, Discord, Spotify, Crunchyroll, League of Legends, Shopify stores, and thousands of popular websites are currently either completely down or experiencing intermittent 500/503 errors.

Cloudflare's own status page ( cloudflarestatus.com ) was also temporarily inaccessible, but the company continues to share urgent updates via Twitter and its official blog.

Official statements and the latest situation.

Cloudflare, in its initial statement at 15:05 Turkish time, said: “We have identified a critical issue on the Cloudflare Global Network. This issue is causing widespread 501 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API access problems. All teams are mobilized and working to fix it as quickly as possible.”

Update 15:21 (GMT+3): “We are seeing improvements in a significant portion of services, but customers may still experience a high rate of errors until the root cause is fully addressed.”

Latest update at 15:40 Turkish time: “The correction has been applied and traffic is starting to return to normal in most areas. We continue to monitor, regional fluctuations may occur for a while longer.”

Major platforms affected (partial list)

  • X (Twitter) → Both web and mobile are partially or completely closed.

  • ChatGPT & OpenAI API → 500 Internal Server Error

  • Discord → Unable to log in, unable to send messages

  • Spotify (web version) → Song not loading

  • League of Legends & Riot services → Unable to connect to matches

  • Most Shopify stores are experiencing issues → Payment pages are not opening.

  • Feedly, Zerodha, and some banks' online banking services.

Why did it happen?

Cloudflare has not yet announced the exact root cause, but initial findings suggest a software or routing error in the company's backbone network caused a global traffic loss. The outage was declared "critical" as it simultaneously affected Cloudflare's data centers in more than 330 cities.

What can you do?

  • Instead of refreshing the pages frequently, wait 5-10 minutes and try again.

  • Switching between mobile data and Wi-Fi can sometimes help.

  • If you are using Cloudflare Warp (1.1.1.1), try turning it off for a while.

This event, one of Cloudflare's biggest outages in the last 10 years, once again highlighted how fragile internet infrastructure can be. As of this moment, services have largely begun to return, but it is stated that a full return to normal may take several hours.
